I did this shot some years ago at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The image is a crop of a larger shot, which wasn’t focused on the girl as much as the architecture of the place.

However, the way she was sitting in context of the architectural design elements, made me find a new purpose with the shot. Rather than documenting the architecture, I decided to focus on the story of the girl, who is waiting for someone or something.

Of course, I don’t know if she is waiting for someone, she might just have been sitting and relaxing. But I felt that was the story the image ended up telling.

What story does it tell you?
